About kirkistown:
Kirkistown Race Circuit is located near the bottom of the Ards Peninsula in County Down, Northern Ireland. It is based on a small part of an ex-WW2 R.A.F. airfield and It is the fastest circuit in the country!
If you are used to the tight, technical nature of Mondello Park, Kirkistown is the opposite: Fast, flowing and featuring the infamous Debtors.... a flat in 6th left hander which is taken at 180mph by the current lap record holder. It's an old school circuit for the brave! It feels dangerous and it's it's awesome!
Format:
Trackdays at Kirkistown are run differently. For starters, the day is limited to 45 cars. The track opens at 10am where beginners are brought out for familiarisation laps with the circuit's ARDS qualified instructors, in the instructors cars. (4 to a car)
Cars are then split into groups of 15 and the afternoon (From 12 to 5pm) is run in 15 min sessions with only 15 cars on track per session. So you will get 15 mins on track, then a 30 min break, then 15 mins on track...and so on.
So you get loads of track time with very few cars on track in your session.
Schedule:
- 9.30am: Drivers Briefing
- 10am: Familiarisation laps for drivers new to Kirkistown Circuit
- 12pm: Track goes live
- 5pm: Track closes
