Following last year’s successful event we’re heading back to the awesome STONE Motorsport facility for another Dyno Day with Joe Power running the rollers. This year we have the option of 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive power runs.
The AR1 is still considered the new kid on the block. Much talked about for quite some time but few seem to have actually have tried the latest high performance tyre from Nankang. We’ve gone through a couple of sets on the Trackdays.ie Civics and found them excellent and in terms of feel, there was no noticeable difference between them and the (albeit ageing) Toyo R888R’s that were previously fitted.
They gripped well from cold, (which is backed up by a lot of UK sprint & hillclimb competitors using them) got up to temperature in a lap or two and didn’t fade when hot. Wear rate was comparable with the Toyo’s too. All in all, a great tyre for the price.
The Yokohama A008 165/70 R10 Performance Tyre is the UK & Ireland’s best selling tyre for the Classic Mini.
The asymmetric tread pattern provides great straight line stability while having superior cornering ability. The soft compound adds tremendous grip to all applications, and this tyre has been the standard for years on vintage race Minis while still being a very popular street performance tyre!
